Hameau du Fournet

Hameau du Fournet

Historic site and monument, Historic patrimony, Town / Village in Réotier
  • On the way back down to the valley, don't miss a stop at the hamlet of Fournet. You can see everything that used to constitute a typical hamlet: the communal oven, the fountain-washhouse and the farms.

  • There are still three bread ovens in Réotier. The fountains are essential elements of the life of the villages. Did you know that the water supply to the taps was only installed in 1965? To the right of the square, you can see a beautiful example of a farmhouse with both aesthetic and useful architecture. See the turret, symbol of a certain opulence, and the 5 levels of the building. Look: the barn is accessed by a ramp at the back, this is the 'assembly'.
