Why stay in Eygliers?

Eygliers is one of the sunniest villages in France, as evidenced by its many sundials. The village stretches from Eygliers station on the edge of the main road at 890 meters to the foothills of the Catinat crest at 2617 meters above sea level. With an easy access to the main road, it’s within an easy reach to the Guillestrois region sites, including the Vars and Risoul ski resorts in winter, and the Serre-Ponçon lake in summer, not forgetting all the Ecrins spots and the Queyras regional natural park.

The hikes from the village to the hamlets are dotted with chapels, fountains and oratories. They alternate between the shade of pine forests and the cultivated fields sunshine. In summer, Eygliers is the place to be for refreshments and children’s activities. At the lake, children can enjoy the fresh water on two small beaches. Bring buckets and spades. As well as swimming, you can kayak, pedal-boat or walk on water in transparent bubbles. The Eygliers lake is just the excuse you’ve been waiting for for a family vacation: horse riding, tree climbing, mini-golfing… And you can sip on what’s left over from your day on a restaurant’s terrace!
