Hameau du Fournet
Historic site and monument, Historic patrimony, Town / Village
in Réotier
-
On the way back down to the valley, remember to stop at the hamlet of Fournet. Here you can see everything that made up a typical hamlet: the communal oven, the fountain-washhouse and the farms.
-
Réotier still has three bread ovens. Fountains are an essential part of village life. Did you know that tap water only arrived in 1965? To the right of the square, you can see a fine example of farmhouse architecture that is not only aesthetically pleasing but useful. Admire the turret, a symbol of a certain amount of opulence, and the 5 storeys of the building. Take a look: access to the barn is via a ramp at the rear, the 'montage'.
