Description
Hot dog combines acrobatics, burlesque and music around the theme of wrestling. With knights, wrestlers and absurd figures, the fights follow one another in a crazy fresco, a grating mirror of a world in tension, between chaos, satire and overflowing energy.
Hot dog is an acrobatic, burlesque and musical fresco based on wrestling in its various forms and imagery. Conceived as a succession of shifting landscapes, Hot Dog is also a collection of gestures, body states and theatrical situations sketched around the struggles of all eras. Little by little, snippets of dreamlike portraits emerge of men (un)fighting to move forward, ever more pressed by time running out/running out on them.
Gliding from a chivalric epic to a village brawl, from a baroque pas-de-deux to a Mexican wrestling match, drawing on caricatural dualities (knight - savage, wrestler - banker, CRS - acti-vist...) and reflections akin to pataphysics, Hot dog feeds as much on microbial conflicts as on the state of the world today. It's also an attempt at a metaphor for the sausage man, caught between the many struggles of our modern world, and whose maladjusted societal organization ultimately makes short work of him.
Designed to be performed anywhere, Hot Dog unfurls on an inflatable, bouncing floor, which defines the performance space and that of the audience arranged around it, like a ring. Carried by a co-golden musical panorama, Hot dog is composed of a succession of landscapes as strong as they are diverse, branching out across styles and ages like an exquisite corpse.
