Description
A violin as Mozart or Beethoven intended it, a pianoforte in the colors of the 18th century: Nicole Tamestit and Pierre Bouyer have been playing this repertoire for thirty years, with a complicity hailed by the critics, who underline their unique sensitivity.
The duo fashions a dialogue between violin and pianoforte. Both initially followed the path of traditional instruments before exploring early repertoires, from baroque violin to harpsichord, and then devoting themselves to instruments and works from the classical period.
Here, the violin returns to the familiar sounds of Mozart, Beethoven and Paganini. Alongside it, the fortepiano reveals another face of the piano: an instrument in the throes of transformation between 1770 and 1850, lighter, more nervous, sometimes almost whispering.
Their career is punctuated by several critically acclaimed recordings. Diapason magazine describes them as "miracles of poetry, shared intelligence and attuned sensitivity", underlining an interpretation driven by a sense of line and pulse "that has nothing to envy Goldberg/Lupu or even Grumiaux/Haskil, in a mordern interpretation".
