Col Tronchet en VTT

Start at the foot of the "Casse Déserte" (alt 2200m), just before the Col de l'Izoard. At the 1st junction, turn right and follow the GR and GTHA. A few short climbs bring you to Col Tronchet (alt. 2347m). Descend to Torrent de Souliers. At around 1900m, cross the torrent on the right bank and follow the Canal d'Arvieux. A narrow but rolling path leads to Lac de Roue. After a short walk around the lake, follow the GR5 signs back down to Château Queyras. Exposed and busy descent. Early mornings or late evenings are best for enjoying this descent. The route is freely accessible all year round. It is practicable depending on weather and snow conditions. Equipment must therefore be adapted.
