The chalet is open during all school vacations and can accommodate up to 38 people.
The story begins with an initiative by a handful of friends barely in their twenties. Having fallen in love with the place they used to visit regularly as teenagers, this group of merry souls renovated the building and kept the place alive for several years, through on-site projects and by lending a hand in the hamlet during the summer farm work.
As a testament to their collective generosity, the original group of friends at the Chalet des Jeunes du Roux didn’t limit themselves to a “family-like” circle. A nonprofit organization under the 1901 Law was founded in 1973 to ensure that the chalet has been accessible to everyone for over 40 years!
Today, the chalet is open to everyone during all school breaks for individual overnight stays and, outside of school breaks, for groups of at least 10 people up to 38 people for a minimum of two nights on a “flexible stay” basis.
