It's the perfect opportunity to test your agility while immersing yourself in history and overlooking the bubbling waters of the Guil.
The via ferrata starts just after the Pasquet bridge. It's a playful route along the left bank of the Guil, in the famous "Gorges de Château", which will continue in summer 2025 with a new section of the via ferrata that will take you to the heart of the Queyras cliffs, with a spectacular passage over a suspended footbridge offering breathtaking views.

You'll be climbing beneath one of the finest fortified castles (Vauban site) in the Hautes-Alpes.
Variant 1: 120m of via ferrata and two footbridges. This variant offers a more challenging itinerary for more experienced climbers and 2 additional footbridges, making it more fun.
Variant 2: 400m of via ferrata and a footbridge. This fairly easy 400m route ends alongside the fort on the north face. A footbridge crosses the Guil.
The start is common to both variants up to the 1st escape route. At this point, you can either use the footbridge to cross the Guil and follow the new red route on the right bank, or stay on the left bank on what I call the classic route, with the little cable crossings. It's nice and you're in the shade, whereas the right-bank route is in the sun... The red circuit crosses back over (2nd footbridge) at the 2nd escape route and joins the classic circuit, continuing on the left bank to the 3rd footbridge, which ends on the right bank (in full sun) as far as the Fort, while the classic circuit continues on the left bank and ends in the shade. The new circuit from the 3rd footbridge to the Fort is quite straightforward.
Admission to Fort Queyras is reduced for those who come fully equipped with their via gear.
Minimum height: 1.25 m.
Take your water bottle with you, especially on the right bank against the wall, where it can get very hot!
