Departure from La Chalp de Saint Véran After breakfast, we'll head up the Curlet valley and then onto the very airy ridge of the same name.

We'll cross some beautiful forests to reach an area with a bird's-eye view of the village of Saint Véran and the Aigue blanche valley, then walk along the ridge towards the open expanses. On the way back, we'll walk in the forest and along the river, looking for signs of the animals that inhabit our forests in winter: hares, foxes, dippers... If conditions don't allow us to venture into the Curlet valley, we won't lose out by climbing the Buchet summit, which offers a magnificent panorama of...

Equipment to bring: rucksack, hiking boots with wool socks, warm clothing, hat, gloves, windproof and waterproof jacket - Gore Tex or K-way type, sunglasses, water bottle - one liter minimum, picnic and snacks.
Level required: average but in good physical shape (580 m ascent).
