Luc Richard is a mountain leader, a specialist in survival in natural environments and a medical correspondent of the IRFMM.
If you want to go hiking with Luc, don't hesitate to sign up for one of his outings in the Guillestrois-Queyras! -
Based in the Queyras, in Aiguilles, he organizes day trips, as well as stays in gites and refuges, in summer and winter (snowshoeing). And also caravans with donkeys or mules and bivouacs in the middle of nature, survival courses and autonomous treks in Tibet (China).

After graduating from Sciences-Po, Luc left to live in China for ten years, where he learned Mandarin at the University of Languages and Culture in Beijing. He became a freelance journalist (L'Express, Géo...) and travelled to the most remote parts of the Middle Kingdom (Tibet, Xinjiang, Yunnan, Manchuria...). He has published several essays and travelogues (including Journey through Forbidden China, reissued in Pocket in 2016) and founded the literary magazine Immédiatement, which he directed until 2001.
Today, Luc divides his time between the Alps (Queyras massif, where he is originally from) and Haute Provence, in the very wild Monges massif. Passionate about travel, ecology, ethnobotany but also history and literature, Luc has done several long walks in autonomy in the wildest corners of nature. Among these : Two months in uninhabited Tierra del Fuego (Chile) and, in 2012, a completely self-sufficient crossing of Iceland, from the east coast to the west coast, through the Desert Highlands (twenty days and 500 km of walking, including 85 km on glacier). Every year he organizes treks in autonomy in the north of Tibet (Sichuan province, China), itinerant stays in gites and refuges in the Queyras, mule caravans (bivouacs in tents in the middle of nature) with his friend Constantin de Slizewicz, but also, in Haute Provence, itinerant hikes around art in nature (Andy Gladsworthy's art refuges close to Dignes les Bains).
Hiking in the summer, snowshoeing in the winter.
