The murals of St. Anthony's church... a hidden treasure!
-
The frescoes in the nave illustrate the cult of St James and the pilgrimage to Compostela. These monumental paintings depict the "miracle of the hanged pilgrim, saved by Saint James". It is still possible to distinguish 5 scenes: the pilgrims being welcomed at the inn; the maid hiding a dish while they sleep; the imprisoned pilgrims; the prayer to Saint James. These works are interesting because there are few surviving murals of this legend (fewer than 10 in France).
