A discovery outing under the larch trees in the heart of autumn, organized by the Office National des Forêts.
Forestry technicians organize logging and forestry work. They take into account the multiple functions and uses of mountain forests: timber production, welcoming the public, preserving biodiversity, managing natural risks, pastoralism... A thorough knowledge of the territory is essential to harvest timber without compromising the balance of the ecosystem and other forest uses. Forestry technicians spend most of their time in the field, carrying out forest diagnostics, preparing cuttings and helping to renew the forest. They are also in daily contact with elected representatives, farmers, livestock breeders, hunters, naturalists and those involved in tourism, to find the most appropriate management solutions to meet everyone's expectations.
An invitation to discover this fascinating profession and talk to a forestry professional during an outing accompanied by an Office National des Forêts forestry technician in the mélézin of the Péas valley.
