Man encantada 8am / espace Guinguette
La Man Encantada is the shaman's hand that disturbs will and discernment. We're no longer sure whether the mandolin-playing singer is dragging us to the quays of Bordeaux or to some bayou in an imaginary delta, in the long November rains on the Gascony moors, or under a red lantern in the port of Shanghai. The accordion pumps as one breathes after the embrace of a mazurka, while the flugelhorn echoes its brassy warmth, here and tonight. But from the mandrake to the stall of Mayan, the lost girl of the port, Asmodet always watches over this strange hand-shaped amulet.
THE GROUP :
Joachim Montbord (vocals, mandolin, percussion, boha)
A traditional ballroom musician for some years now, Joachim sings the melodies of Gascony, and loves to set to music the poets and traditional texts of the Southwest.
Gilles de Becdelièvre (Accordion, backing vocals). A practitioner of traditional music from Périgord and the surrounding region, Gilles has worked with funds raised in Périgord Noir for his traditional music DEM in Limoges.
He has collaborated on projects such as "DBDB", "La Poule Noire", "Gargamas", "Nòu "Jérôme Dubois (Bugle, shells, backing vocals). After ten years devoted to contemporary music (rock, reggae, funk) and gypsy jazz, he studied jazz at the Mont de Marsan and Agen conservatories with Jacky Berecochea and Jacques Ballue, earning a DEM. He put this into practice with "The Rix'tet", "Flora Estel Swingtet" (swing) and "On Lee Way" (hardbop), with whom he toured several festivals in France and Europe.
Lausa 8pm / espace Guinguette
Laüsa [lahuze] is a musical journey that draws its identity from the musical tradition of Gascony, and takes a few detours "through song". Mediterranean and Atlantic colors can be heard, as well as sounds borrowed from contemporary music. With a wealth of meticulously rearranged collections as well as personal compositions, let's embark on a generous whirlwind to get your feet and head dancing.
Bal des bestioles 10pm / espace Guinguette
Electric and poetic" neo-rad folk concert/ball
(with dance initiation).
When electric guitar, synthesizers and drums merge with mandolin and vocals to deliver an energetic, soaring neo-trad ball.
A mix of original compositions, poetry and revisited traditional Irish music.
"Le Bal des Bestioles" invites you on a dreamlike, electric and percussive journey that's a sight to behold and, above all, a dance to be enjoyed; and as you don't have to do anything... you can listen with your eyes closed...
