Queyras factory 8:45pm / big top
Since June 2023 Musi'Queyras has been hosting Groove Factory for a year-long artistic residency entitled "Queyras Factory". It is dedicated to the creation of an original repertoire, inspired by collections of traditional tunes from the Hautes-Alpes region. The creative work will be carried out in collaboration with a dozen musicians from the Hautes-Alpes region, and will culminate in the production of an album and a stage show, to be unveiled in July 2024.
Groove factory 10:15pm / Chapiteau
Traditional music has always been a receptacle for the influences of its time. With "Continuum ..." Groove Factory is part of this history.
The energy of Cyrille and Stéphane's diatonic accordions, combined with Michaël's samples and bass, create a huge playground for experimentation, a new way of composing for dance.
Duo bottasso, 11:45pm / Chapiteau
Duo Bottasso, also known as the curious musician brothers Simone and Nicolò, have been exploring a multitude of art forms over their 20-year career. Their contemporary approach to traditional music mixes original compositions, improvisation and elements of electronic music. Infusing Alpine roots with innovative realizations, they create utopian 21st-century folk music with gentle melodies and daring experimentation.
Simone Bottasso
Musician, composer and conductor, he blends his traditional roots with every possible genre. He began playing diatonic accordion by studying traditional French and Occitan folk music with Silvio Peron, Norbert Pignol and Stephane Milleret. He studied jazz and classical flute at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, followed by contemporary and electronic composition at CODARTS in Rotterdam. As a composer and musician, he takes part in several projects that mix folk sounds with jazz, rock, funk, bal folks, contemporary and electronic music.
Nicolo Bottasso
Seeking to avoid stylistic conventions and genre classifications, Nicolò Bottasso is a curious and versatile musician. He graduated in violin from the Conservatorio G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin under the guidance of Manuel Zigante, Ludovico Tramma and Piergiorgio Rosso. He studied trumpet with Fabiano Cudiz and in 2018 graduated in jazz trumpet with Giampaolo Casati, Furio di Castri and Emanuele Cisi at the Conservatorio G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin. He studied Ottoman music with Michalis Kouloumis and jazz with Jarmo Hoogendijk and Jan Van Duikeren at il Codarts in Rotterdam. He is a member of Duo Bottasso, and for ten years founded and co-directed the orchestral project Folkestra & Folkoro.
