On the program for this Sunday, July 14:
Le Cri du Hibou - Veronika Warkentin
Alone on stage, Veronika grabs the audience's ear before they even have the idea of keeping a reasonable distance from the scathing subject she explores, unpacks and unveils, with the authentic rage of creating in order to exist... With the tip of her bow, she juggles vocal performance and sonic illusion. She navigates by sight, or rather by hearing, between unison and dissonance, caught in the net of harmonic chimes, the embodied words of Valère Novarina, traditional songs revisited at their very roots... She dances the sounds of her voice and hits the nail on the head, touching her audience with her intimate awareness of the marvellous that her ears capture, her fervour for sharing it, making it accessible to all by all means, exploding the aesthetic codes of voice and song.
From age 0 to 7, the symbolic age of reason, children gradually acquire the intellectual concepts of language through mastery of their mother tongue. The brain's analysis of sounds perceived by the ear then takes over from the broad, immersive auditory perception present in the very young child. It is at this age that, in our contemporary Western societies, cerebral comprehension definitively takes over from sensory intelligence... Yet it is possible to rediscover this auditory sensory richness, notably through the practice of singing, foreign languages, listening to music or recognizing birdsong... It is into this marvellous universe of sound that the show Le Cri du Hibou invites us.
