    # Le Bois des Amoureux
Leaving Saint Véran, a stop should be made at the "Bois des Amoureux".
In addition to its majestic larch trees, this wood owes its name to the fact that during the period of exile, it was an important place for clandestine worship, meetings and preparations for departure.

Molines' annual Protestant gathering, the Fête du Bois des Amoureux, takes place every year at the beginning of July.
In summer, there's a snack bar, an accrobranche course and an equestrian center.

    # Pierre-Grosse
At an altitude of 1910 m, Pierre-Grosse, a hamlet in the commune of Molines en Queyras, has a beautiful homogeneity that can be admired from the Bois des Amoureux path.
Ideally situated on an adret slope, the village faces due south.
Don't miss the temple in the middle of the village, a remarkable traditional building.
Don't forget to admire the many sundials made by one of our local sundial makers, Rémy Potey.

    # Les Prats
Prat-haut and Prat-bas belong to the commune of Château Ville-Vieille.
Surrounded by larch forests, discover the rural landscape
where farmers are also the guardians of a living, preserved nature. Breathtaking views of the "demoiselles coiffées" and the "Sommet Bûcher".

    # Aiguilles
Aiguilles, capital of the Queyras canton, is first and foremost a rebuilt village. Here you'll find some fine urban-style houses built by returning emigrants (in the 19th century, Agulhas left for the Americas, Argentina, Mexico... to make their fortune).
For example, Aiguilles boasts an all-metal Eiffel house, and a remarkable 3rd Republic-style town hall, built entirely of cut stone and clad in lead.
Aiguilles is home to the Queyras region's health services: Maison de santé, hospital, pharmacy.

In spring and autumn, conditions are changeable, and even snow-free trails can be icy. So the reflex in the mountains is to "go out well equipped". In my bag, I slip or hang crampons and poles.

In winter, the right reflexes are: snowshoes, poles, gloves, hat, sun cream and... a survival blanket! Experience is essential, and knowing when to give up is sometimes preferable to taking risks. And if you're new to the mountains, don't hesitate to call in a professional! Before going out, I check the Météo France Montagnes and BERA bulletins (risks and avalanches).
