Larch trees surround you, and the path winds all around. The mountain becomes more sparse before you arrive at Lac du Lauzet and its welcoming banks, where you can enjoy a picnic or just laze around. The Col du Lauzet is just around the corner. It is a gateway to other passes, notably the Garnier with its breathtaking views of the iconic Écrins peaks. On the other side, like another world, similar and yet so different, the Furfande alpine chalets greet you. Take the loop back to the lake, then return to the parking lot along the same path.
