The Queyras villages are nestled in the hollows of the mountains or clustered together along the slopes. Shaped by man and his adaptation to altitude, they are among the highest inhabited villages in Europe. The Guillestrois villages, on the other hand, are built along the Durance River, in the foothills of the Queyras or Écrins mountains. At lower altitudes, they offer the opportunity to hike or bike on dry paths all year round, while enjoying the proximity of several ski areas in winter, including those of the Queyras. Thirteen villages where year-round life is organized according to the seasons, for a unique welcome with character.
