Rencontre avec l'évêque de Gap et d'Embrun

In 2017, when Mgr Xavier Malle arrived in the Hautes-Alpes, where Pope Francis had just appointed him bishop of Gap-Embrun, the number of migrants passing through the mountain passes had exploded. Nothing has prepared him for what he is about to discover, having been a rural priest in the diocese of Tours and sharing the anxiety and fears of many of his fellow citizens on the migration issue. Through face-to-face encounters, he comes to realize that the exiles who pass through our mountains are not primarily a political problem. They are Blessing, Kalilou, Éric, Ousmane and others, human beings whose dignity has been trampled underfoot, and who must be cared for in the name of the Gospel. With sincerity and courage, the bishop recounts in his book "Ces exilés qui passent par nos montagnes" how he was drawn into places he had not planned to go. He also explains the reasons for his commitment and explores, etc. This book will be available for purchase.
