The 3rd concert in this 35th edition of Musicales Guil et Durance
This concert brings jazz and classical music together in a free, spontaneous exchange.
Christophe Collette, first violinist with the Quatuor Debussy, and Franck Tortiller, vibraphonist, explore this shifting line where Maurice Ravel's melodies take on a new dimension. His Trois Oiseaux de Paradis and Chanson romanesque lend themselves to improvisation and the warm timbre of the vibraphone. Johann Sebastian Bach, an essential bridge between these two worlds, is a natural guest on the program.
Classical violin slides into jazz with a medley of Stéphane Grappelli's hits, while Michel Legrand, Gabriel Fauré and Kurt Weill enrich this musical encounter. A moment where the dialogue between writing and freedom gives rise to unexpected sonorities, in the spirit of a lively and open celebration of Ravel's legacy.
