Description

The Musi'Queyras Festival looks forward to seeing you in Abriès-Ristolas for its 33rd edition, full of world music! The festivities continue at the espace guinguette in Abriès.
Program: Espace Guinguette / Place des Halles - Abriès free 4:30 pm Restitution of the week's music workshops Presentations by MussiQueyras musician trainees! Traditional singing from Southern Europe, West African percussion, diatonic accordion 6pm Jelly Sugar Band The Jelly Sugar Band is the joy of a jazz that's a little tricky, a little naughty, the nostalgia of a New Orleans, in 1900 and of hoodlums, the acid smell of an apple pie, the blue smoke of the bateaux-mouches, the memory of a bad whisky, swallowed late at the bottom of a harbor, it's blues, rag, endless nights, sweat and velvet... As sweet and tangy as rum candy! And the cast: Alice Dézailes: vocals Vincent Modolo: trumpet Manu Amadei Giuseppi: clarinet Paul Cura: double bass Geoff Hartley: drums and trombone Thomas Mazingue: guitar and banjo Big top - Abriès 8:30pm - FALIBA Gleaming Afro-jazz with Mandingo echoes Afro-Jazz, Afro-Beat, traditional Mandinka revisited, sweet or spicy world songs... Faliba is a harmonious and explosive communion, an invitation to dance! Faliba's afro-fusion takes a fresh look at the Mandingo musical tradition. Somewhere between spicy jazz and afro-beat, this delightful quartet ventures into the lands of West Africa, tinged with Bambara songs, lively guitar, colorful saxophones, frenetic drums and percussion... But above all, Faliba is the unique sounds of singer Yanifola's 10- or 14-string n'goni. The kamélé n'goni, the kora's little brother, is a lute harp from the Mandé region and one of the best-kept secrets of the Malinké repertoire. Faliba brings it to life in an energetic, gleaming Afro-jazz setting. Yanifola: Compositions, N'goni, Vocals Jeff Canova: Guitar, Percussion, backing vocals Seb Smither: Alto & Baritone saxophones, backing vocals Thomas Bourgeois: Drums & Zarb Tim Chopin: Sound technician 10:30pm - DJUSU Afro Groove Rock Concert DJUSU, or "the heart" in Malinké, is a pretty secret in Nantes, but one that tends to get out. But given the trio's lively performances, where electric guitars, n'goni and calabashes escaped from Orange Blossom revolve around Evelyne Mambo's dancing and singing, you'd be surprised at the opposite. Raw, piercing rock-psych references feeding "afro peppers" fed on M'balax, Highlife or Rumba, and a result that no aficionado of the late aficionado of the late Tony Alle
