Description

Gain altitude and enjoy the mountains of Gilly!
The Gilly chairlift is open in both summer and winter, with different features depending on the season: Winter: More than 30 km of downhill ski runs in an idyllic setting—sounds tempting, doesn’t it? Four T-bar lifts let you mix things up. There’s something for every skill level (blue, red, and black runs). Try the red run at Valpréveyre—you won’t be disappointed! And now, there’s no need to take the shuttle back to the base of the resort—try the new Brune T-bar lift, which takes you back to the Ruibon lift, and enjoy a descent with nearly 1,000 meters of elevation drop! Pure bliss! You can also ride it as a pedestrian. Summer: The chairlift is accessible to everyone! Whether on foot or by bike—and even for people with limited mobility, since it’s detachable! You can take it both up and down. The chairlift does not allow young children in baby carriers. The child must be able to hold onto the safety bar independently and be tall enough to do so on their own. From up there, the view of the Guil Valley is breathtaking. You’ll find marked trails shared by hikers and mountain bikers. A trail accessible on foot leads to the lookout point on Mont Viso, where the orientation map will show you the names of the surrounding peaks. And why not enjoy a picnic at the tables set up nearby by a small stream? You’re sure to spot marmots frolicking as you make your way back down. The Ponsole Trail takes you gently back down through the flower-filled woods, and via the GR 58 you’ll reach the village. And if you want to go higher, there’s still a 300-meter climb to reach the Colette de Gilly at an altitude of 2,300 meters! You’ll arrive at the ridge trail with its unforgettable views. And finally, for fans of downhill mountain biking and off-road scooters—whether beginners or experienced riders—there’s a Bike Park with four trails (green, blue, red, black) and a 470-meter elevation drop. Dogs are prohibited from riding the chairlift, even when wearing a harness, by prefectural decree.
