From the village, the trail winds gently toward the hamlet of Le Villard, before veering sharply to follow a forest trail through a sun-dappled larch forest. As you gain elevation while climbing up the valley, the forest thins out and gives way to more open spaces: you enter the Chaurionde Valley, which has a wilder feel. The terrain alternates between trails and paths, with a few more technical sections as you reach the bottom of the valley. The return trip begins with a gradual descent that alternates between fast trails and more winding paths.
The route is open to the public year-round. It is accessible depending on weather and snow conditions, so you should bring appropriate gear.
