26 - Le Grand Canal en VTT

You leave Clôt la Chalpe heading toward the bottom of the Aigue Blanche Valley: first along small farm roads, then along a mix of forest trails and narrower, wooded paths. You venture deeper and deeper into this remote corner of the world, riding against the river’s current, which you cross to reach the heights of Saint-Véran. From there, you’ll enjoy a beautiful balcony-style ride along the canal, offering superb views of the wooded slopes, the suspended alpine pastures, and the mountain peaks, before beginning the descent on singletrack through the woods on more playful terrain. This route is shared by various users: hikers, herds, and trail runners. It is accessible depending on weather and snow conditions. You should therefore bring appropriate gear.
