La Tulipe de Guillestre

Natural wonder in Guillestre
  • The true star of Guillestre! An endemic species that is unique in the world, it is the only wild tulip in the Hautes-Alpes. A beautiful purplish plant with a blue rim, it has an entire plot dedicated to it at the Maison de la Nature, where it blooms in April/May.

  • Extinct since the 1850s, a population was rediscovered by the naturalist priest of Risoul. Since then, the Maison de la Nature des Hautes-Alpes, in partnership with the Gap Charance botanical conservatory, has multiplied the number of bulbs, which flower in May in the Maison de la Nature garden.
