Don't leave the hamlet of Les Casses until you've immersed yourself in one of the village's mysteries! Look at the symbols scattered all about. They are quite mysterious. We do not know the origin of the engraved stones, but it is thought that they could have been used as markers for masons, signposts or for counting, classifying livestock or crops. In Saint-Crépin, engraved stones can be found on the parish church. These are the marks of stonemasons who were paid by the number of stones they signed.
