The hamlet of Les Casses is a fine example of a hamlet adapted to the sloping terrain.

We do not know the origin of the engraved stones, but it is thought that they could have been used as markers for masons, signposts or for counting, classifying livestock or crops. In Saint-Crépin, engraved stones can be found on the parish church. These are the marks of stonemasons who were paid by the number of stones...
