Discovering a secret lake in Queyras

  • Discover a magnificent high altitude lake hidden at the bottom of one of the most beautiful valleys of the Queyras! Starting from Valpréveyre, this hike will lead us to the banks of the Chalanties lake, nestled at an altitude of 2569 meters.

  • We'll cross larch forests along mountain streams before arriving on alpine meadows with a splendid view of some of the most beautiful peaks in Queyras and Italy. We will surely see marmots, and with a little luck chamois. Close to the Italian border, we will see the wild valleys which, since the Middle Ages, served as refuges for the Vaudois, of which we will observe some moving testimonies. A journey through time to discover a secret jewel of the Queyras.
